Fishing is the one of the best ways to get acquainted with the Bay. We have many species of fish to choose from, given the time of year and prevailing weather conditions. Bluefin Tuna, King Salmon, Halibut, Lingcod, White and Striped Seabass, a wide variety of rock fishes and Albacore Tuna are all available within easy reach of Santa Cruz. To check out our fishing reports Click here!. The Monterey Bay Canyon is the West Coast's premier fish feeding grounds serving up Sardines, Anchovies and Squid. We have the capabilities to utilize all these resources in a fast, comfortable, clean and exclusive manner aboard the TAYLOR-GENE.

The catch is where it's at!We provide all tackle supplied by G. Loomis, Penn International and Sufix line, along with one on one assistance and instruction on charters. The latest and most effective techniques to "catch" our targeted gamefish are always used.

Free Diving is another way to get into the Bay, literally. The Monterey Bay is world renown for it's awesome underwater diversity. Up to four divers are allowed on our dive charters, going to little known private dive sites

Photograghing and Blue Water hunting for White Seabass, Albacore and Bluefin Tuna is possible (check Tuna Story) when the right conditions present themselves. Inshore hunting for Halibut, Lingcod and rock fish is available all summer. All Free diving gear must be provided by the divers.

Whale watching and wildlife viewing tours are available year round. With the Monterey Bay's abundant resident marine mammals, (Sea Otters, Harbor seals, Elephant Seals, Porpoises, Dolphins and assorted Whales) there is always something to see. Since these tours are relatively short and eventful they are great for getting children acquainted with the Ocean.

ALL CHARTERS:

    Are customized to meet your personal needs;
    Provide you with the most enjoyable fishing experience possible;
    Are limited to six anglers;
    Ensure one on one assistance and instruction;
    Are furnished with all necessary bait and finest tackle.
    Live bait provided when available

TERMINAL TACKLE:

All rods are Lamiglass or Calstar and reels are Penn and Abu Garcia.

    For King Salmon we provide:
    Lamiglass Fiberglass 8' mooching rods
    Abu Garcia Ambassaduer 7000 reels filled with 12-20 lb. test Maxima Line.

    Live Bait Halibut, White Seabass and Albacore we provide:
    Tiger Stik saltwater rods
    Abu Garcia Ambassaduer 7000 reels filled with 20 lb. test Maxima Line.

    Albacore Trolling gear we provide:
    Penn 7 ft. fiberglass Power Stix
    Penn 16S International II & 4/0 Senators Reels filled with 40 lb. test Maxima Line.
