Lesson Program

General Philosophy
We have chosen Natural Horsemanship as our guiding philosophy. Often referred to as "horse whisperer" training, this is a gentle way of relating to and guiding the horse and rider without being harsh. The goal of the horse and the rider is to form respect for each other. Students learn about the nature of horses and how to work with that nature to build confidence and trust in the relationship between horse and rider.

When you learn to ride at PVHC, you will first have a one-on-one with your head trainer present and chat about your goals and why you want to ride. The trainer will put together a plan for you and your horse to complete a successful journey. You learn to build a relationship with the horse, which takes time and you will not move on until you have succeeded at your goal in a safe and confident manner.

We also offer Tiny Trots class Mondays or Fridays from 9:00-12:30. These are designed for 4-6 year olds and cost $160 per month.
 

Programs for Ocean Grove Students
We currently offer serveral pakages for students in the Ocean Grove Charter school system. Once you have determined which package is best for you, please contact PVHC to schedule your lessons. Your ES will need to be contacted as well to create the PO.

4-week Package: $140
We have 3 different 4-week packages: the weeks of 9/12 through 10/5, and/or the weeks of 10/10 through 10/3, and/or the weeks of 11/28 through 12/19
Lesson times are 1:00-2:00 OR 2:00-3:00 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday OR Friday.
Each lesson 1 hour and includes learning to groom and tack up your horse as well as handling it on the ground and riding in the arena and on trails.

8-week Package: $280
Starts the week of 10/10 and continues thorugh the week of 11/21
Lesson times are 1:00-2:00 OR 2:00-3:00 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday OR Friday.
Each lesson 1 hour and includes learning to groom and tack up your horse as well as handling it on the ground and riding in the arena and on trails.

12-week Package: $420
Starts the week of 9/12 and continues thorugh the week of 11/28
Lesson times are 1:00-2:00 OR 2:00-3:00 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday OR Friday.
Each lesson 1 hour and includes learning to groom and tack up your horse as well as handling it on the ground and riding in the arena and on trails.

Tiny Trots, 8-week Package: $280
This class is designed for kids ages 4-6. It includes time riding, as well as doing crafts and/or science experiements, play time and snack time.
Starts the week of 9/12 and continues thorugh the week of 10/31
Tiny Trots is from 9:00- 12:00 Monday OR Wednesday.

Pony Class, 8-week Package: $280
This class is similar to the Tiny Trots, but designed for older kids ages 7-12.
It includes time riding, as well as doing crafts and/or science experiements, play time and snack time.
Starts the week of 9/12 and continues thorugh the week of 10/31
Tiny Trots is from 9:00- 12:00 Fridays only.
