Information about Mystery Spot...

The Mystery Spot was discovered in 1939 by a group of surveyors and opened to the public in 1940. The Mystery Spot has amazed and perplexed hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world, and many return time and time again to experience these puzzling variations of gravity, perspective, and height.

Some speculate that cones of metal were secretly brought here and buried in our earth as guidance systems for their spacecraft. Some think that it is in fact the spacecraft itself buried deep within the ground. Other theories include carbon dioxide permeating from the earth, a hole in the ozone layer, a magma vortex, the highest dielectric biocosmic radiation known anywhere in the world, and radiesthesia. Whatever the cause is, it remains a mystery.

The Mystery Spot is fun for all ages! It is a great place to spend a few hours with the whole family from the 45 minute fully guided tour to our wonderful hiking trail. We have a gift store with all things Mystery Spot and more! Come and join us for a refreshing day of outdoor fun!

    - Monday-Friday: 10:00AM-4:00PM (last tour at 4:05PM)
    - Saturday-Sunday: 10:00AM-5:00PM (last tour at 5:05PM)
Weekends and Holidays

On weekends and holidays the Mystery Spot frequently has to close the road around noontime. When this happens it means we only allow reservations in. If you would like to visit during these busy times please purchase your tickets online or over the phone by calling 831.423-8897.

If you come this weekend, without advanced tickets and the road is closed, you can still purchase tickets over the phone but there will most likely be a wait time that exceeds an hour. Just drive to where you can get cell phone reception, call us at (831) 423-8897 and purchase your tickets over the phone.

    - We accept Visa, Master Card, or Discover card for online or over the phone ticket purchases ONLY. Total charge per advance ticket is $6.00.
    - Parking is $5.00 per vehicle and is payable upon arrival.
    - You must arrive 30 minutes prior to your tour time or you will miss your tour. Please call us if you will be late, we will do our best to adjust your tour time.

    - On weekends and holidays the Mystery Spot frequently has to close the road around noontime.
    - If you will be visiting the Mystery Spot in a really large vehicle (RV's, buses, and really large trucks) please call us at 831.423.8897 before you arrive so we can save you a parking space since parking is very limited for larger vehicles.

When the "Sold Out" signs are in place only guests with tickets, employees, and local residents will be allowed onto the premises. All other traffic must be turned away.

Guests parking off site and walking onto the property will not be sold tickets according to county regulation. All guests must park on site to purchase tickets and go on a tour.

For Safety reasons please do not block traffic! When you see a "Sold Out" sign and you do not have tickets, you must continue driving. Do not slow down or pull off to the side of the road.
