Things to do & Activities

The number one thing to do in Soquel is shop for antiques.  Walk along Soquel Drive, also known as Antique Row, and discover the treasures within its quaint little shops.  For a real treat, antiquers should visit Center Street Antiques and Interiors.  This large emporium features antique wares from 23 different dealers.  Within its spacious rooms, visitors will find high quality furniture pieces, art and decorating accents.  Whether a seasoned antiquer or just dropping by to check things out, Center Street Antiques and Interiors is a truly fascinating and rewarding Soquel outing.

The other main attractions of Soquel are its wineries and vineyards that specialize in delicious vintages and gorgeous views.  Start the Soquel wine tour at the Bargetto Winery’s tasting room right in town.  Since 1933, Bargetto has been harvesting rich Pinot Noirs, Merlots, Pinot Grigios Chardonnays and some Italian varietals from its vineyards nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains.  Travel just three miles out of town to the Soquel Vineyard where the grandsons of Bargetto Winery’s founder have had their own establishment since 1987.  Though the vineyard’s architecture may bring back memories of Italy, Soquel Vineyard focuses on California varietals only – Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel to be exact.  Continue on to the Poetic Cellars – Soquel’s newest winery, where winemaker Katy Lovell will serve up Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs and Merlots made from the finest grapes around.  A trip to this tranquil little winery will please every visitor’s inner artist.  And finally, Hunter Hill Vineyard & Winery high in the hills above Soquel offers up a unique atmosphere for tasting some of the estate’s varietals.

Annual Events in Soquel
