Things to do in Felton

Located in the mountains of the San Lorenzo Valley, Felton’s main attractions are the surrounding state parks.  The most popular parks are the Loch Lomond Recreation Area and Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, which both offer endless outdoor fun for the entire family.  The Fall Creek State Park has 20 miles of trails through redwoods and historic sites, while the easily-accessible Felton Covered Bridge Park is home to family-friendly picnic areas and the historic Felton Covered Bridge.  The Roaring Camp Railroads is a Felton attraction that shouldn’t be missed.  Its 19^th century steam trains take visitors through the redwoods and down to the Santa Cruz beaches.

Dining in Felton

Although Felton has the usual variety of cuisines found in Santa Cruz County, its Italian restaurants really shine.  For a more formal dining experience, the Oak Tree Ristorante is one of the best Italian restaurants around.  The Redwood Pizzeria is a favorite for pizza lovers and Mama Mia’s Family Style Italian Restaurant is also a popular choice.  Dining in Felton also offers quite a few notable options for Asian cuisine, including Shun Feng Mountain City Chinese Restaurant, Felton Chinese Food and Chopstix.  Rockys Café is the locals’ favorite for brunch.

Shopping in Felton

Although it has a few art galleries and souvenir stores, Felton is not a shopping destination.  The best shopping in Felton is at the Tuesday afternoon Felton Farmers Market.  Since 1987, locals and tourists alike have enjoyed the summer market’s local organic produce offerings.  It’s a family friendly place by the St John’s Catholic Church that also hosts the annual Children’s Day and Pumpkin Contest.
